How To Protect Your Remaining Hearing
Keep the following tips in mind to protect your hearing from noise-related damage:
- Wear earplugs. Earplugs dampen the force of sound hitting your ears, reducing stress on your inner ear and lowering your risk of hearing loss. You don’t need to give up your concerts to protect your hearing; just remember to pack a pair of earplugs before you go.
- Watch your headphone usage. It’s easy to let the volume on your phone creep up past safe levels. To protect your hearing, set a volume limit on your phone of no more than 80 decibels (dB). You can do so using the “headphone safety” feature in your phone’s settings.
